going purple but not quite there yet

Hey yo don't read on if you're not ready for my ego-boosting photobooth action.

I came quite close with the purple hair I wanted, not quite there yet though, but I'll keep trying! Here's the closest I've gotten so far;

As you might detect, the problem lies in the unevenness off the color. I want all of my 8 hairs to be the same color! So far my tactic has been home-dying it as blond as it gets, and then using a shitload of extra strong silver-shampoo. My hair is not responding evenly to the silver-shampooing, hence the multicolored hair. BUT, I have now ordered and received and actual purple hair-dye, and with that I hope to get the results I want. Long live eBay. So, to be continued...

smack that lipstick on and get going

I went a bit overboard on the lipsticks lately, but I recently found out that even though my lips are tiny and insignificant, I can still pull off the colorful wonderfulness of a lipstick. Here are my latest 4 buys;

I have been on the lookout for a dark lipstick à la this, and as almost always, MAC had the solution, in the color MEDIA. The other lipstick I have been on the lookout for, is a pale cold purple lipstick, to compliment my upcoming purple hair. I have yet to find the exact color I'm looking for, but I came pretty close by combining INGLOT's light purplish pink lipstick with the Gina Tricot dark purple one. The last lipstick is a pale babypink by MAC, and also has the same pale "unnatural" look to it that I'm looking for. All in all, a successful lipstick hunt.

Thought I might as well show you my whole collection. Not all of them are being used, as you can see, but anyways, here they are.

that hair

Long have I sighed for a drastic hair change, and too long have I known what I wanted. BUT, (yup here's the but..) I have some issues concerning my hair; it falls out. And no matter what I do, how well I treat it, it still bloody keeps falling out, and keeps thinning. Therefore, I have ULTRA thin hair. I used to have very thick healthy hair, but then something happened. But that seems like centuries ago now, and I'm almost used to my mousy thin hair. 

So, I have reached a conclusion. Since all my efforts of saving my hair, stuffing myself with expensive vitamins and weird natural medicine, not treating it with any heat styling, not coloring it, used only very sensitive hair products, and applying numerous of hair treating oils and serums and whatnot, have had no result whatsoever, I might as well go all in and destroy it once and for all. What's the point of having thinning ugly-ass hair, when you can have thinning ultra cool colored hair? Uh? And how not to better destroy it thoroughly than; behold, Julie wants silvery-purpleish-grayish-blueish-pinkish hair.

In search for the perfect hair color for me, I browsed the world wide web. And came across these magnificent hairstyles and colors.

don't forget your brows

Dudes and dudettes, it's all about the eyebrows!

I got inspired to make this brow post, since one of my collages commented on something as random as my brows. She complimented both shape and color, totally out of the blue, and that made me think that maybe I do have nice brows. 

And luckily, brows are cool, if you do it right. Forget the thinly plucked straight pencil colored (or worse, tattooed!) brows, they simply can't cut it. Just let them grow, bushy and wild! But here's the trick, even though they are supposed to be wild and "out of control", you still need to have full control over them. Otherwise you'll end up looking like a werewolf. Or worse, a hippie!

My miracle fix for my brows is this incredible brow wax from Lumene. It's both a wax, and a coloring creme, and just happens to be the perfect color for me. I used to color my brows with a pencil, coz mine are translucent white, but with this one there's no need for any of that.

 My brows are from now on; saved.

Oh and remember to brush upwards, to create that controlled bushy 

effect.

red matte nails with a twist

I'm really getting into this nail painting thing. I think it's because I'm reunited with my huge nail-polish collection again, after so many months apart. They are placed here on my desk, so when I'm watching stuff online I find myself painting my nails. Why not?

Anyways, here's yesterdays result.

Today I'm working the coolest nails ever. After a night of not being able to sleep you start getting creatve. Or desperate. Yesterday I got creative, and painted my nails black, with a shiny black polish. Then I topped it with OPI's black shatter, that shatters the shiny polish with a matte black color. And voila! Black leo manicure!

Some things never change; my nail polish fetish has not been cured, and will probably never be. So instead of fighting it, I just have to live with my it. I'm in Asia, maybe this is not the place to try and cure nailpolishmania anyway...? There are too many cheap nail-polishes around not to be tempted, and when I say cheap, I mean cheap! Something like 4DKK/0,5€ a piece, and with all the colors of the rainbow, and some more in metallics, I just can't help myself.

I can't go all in shopping for clothes bags n' shoes, because I don't have the room (read; money) to carry it around, so a new nail polis is a good substitute to the urge of buying something new... So adding to my collection, I have during my trip got to scrape seven new polishes together. Oops.

I did throw out one of the original ones I brought with me, does that count...?

change of color

I want to make something drastic with my hair, before it falls out completely. So I want to let it grow just a bit more, and then color it. I have known for a long time what my new hair color is going to be, but it's all in my head. How do you you explain this hair color to a hairdresser? A little gray, silverish, wash-out purple? So I'm so glad I finally found some pictures showing exactly what hair color I want! I have to go all copycat in this one, but it's the only picture that truly shows the exact color. So when I come home, my hairdresser will choke on her scissors when I show this picture and tell her to make me look like this.

I stole the images from the blog Love Aesthetics, one of the most inspirational blogs I read. I love Ivanas style, her looks and the creative DIYs. She is my muse, and with great hair!

I just hope this hairdo will look good on me:) But I still have some time before I get home. Maybe I'll change my mind. Not likely though.

polish to go

So now it's 2 weeks until my departure. Yaiks!

So all I'm thinking about now is to buy all I need to my trip. And I need a lot!

The problem is that I'm going with one back bag, with maximum 14 kilos of weight. I'm so screwed! 7 months and 14 kilos, including camera equipment?!? This is not going to be easy packing. So everything I find must be mini seize or smaller.

So how cute aren't these small polishes from H&M? Perfect colors and perfect seizes!
